Roma 2 dicembre 2022 – La Country President di Pfizer Italia,
Päivi Kerkola, ha ricevuto il CEO Italian Award 2022 per la categoria Pharma, in occasione dell’evento CEO Italian Summit & Awards organizzato da Business International (Fiera Milano) e Forbes Italia. La serata di gala che ha chiuso il Summit è terminata con la premiazione dei 15 “Capitani d’impresa” più innovativi e di successo dell’anno, secondo la classifica Forbes, che quest’anno ha visto il riconoscimento per la manager finlandese a capo della filiale italiana diPfizer.
Laureata in Economics and Business Administration all’Università di Turku, Päivi Kerkola ha lavorato per oltre vent'anni nel settore farmaceutico, ricoprendo ruoli di responsabilità crescente in diverse aree terapeutiche e funzioni direzionali. Al di fuori del suo Paese d’origine, ha lavorato in Svezia e Svizzera. È stata presidente dell’associazione finlandese del settore, Pharma Industry Finland, ed oggi è membro della giunta di Farmindustria in Italia.
“Sono onorata di ricevere questo premio che è in realtà un riconoscimento all’intera organizzazione di Pfizer, 2.300 persone in Italia. Il 2022 ha rappresentato un altro anno molto importante per noi: siamo stati in grado di offrire ulteriori soluzioni alla pandemia COVID ma anche molte innovazioni nelle nostre altre aree terapeutiche, oltre a trasformare la nostra azienda e il nostro modello go-to-market.”, ha commentato Päivi Kerkola
“Proprio grazie a queste innovazioni che Pfizer ha sviluppato, dal vaccino all’antivirale, anche l’Italia (primo Paese occidentale colpito dal Covid) ha potuto tornare ad una ‘nuova normalità’ post-pandemica.”
Nell’ambito della scelta dei migliori CEO del 2022, quest’anno l’organizzazione ha voluto porre l’accento sulle sfide che il contesto globale propone in alcune aree strategiche del management, come Leadership, Collaborazione, Produttività, innovazione e valorizzazione del talento, nonché su come valori fondamentali come la sostenibilità guideranno il futuro.

Pfizer's Country President in Italy wins the Pharma category
Rome 2 December 2022 – The Country President of Pfizer Italia,
Päivi Kerkola, received the CEO Italian Award 2022 for the Pharma category, on the occasion of the CEO Italian Summit & Awards event organized by Business International – Fiera Milano and Forbes Italia. The gala evening that closed the Summit ended with the awarding of the 15 most innovative and successful "Capitani d’Impresa (Corporate Captains)" of the year, according to the Forbes ranking, which this year saw recognition for the Finnish manager in charge of the Italian branch of Pfizer.
Graduated in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Turku, Päivi Kerkola has worked for over twenty years in the pharmaceutical sector, holding roles of increasing responsibility in various therapeutic areas and management functions. Outside of her home country, she has worked in Sweden and Switzerland. She was president of the Finnish association of the sector, Pharma Industry Finland, and today she is a member of the board of Farmindustria in Italy.
“I am honored to receive this award which is actually a recognition of the entire Pfizer organization in Italy, comprising 2.300 people. 2022 represented another very important year for us – we have been able to offer further solutions to the COVID pandemic but also many innovations in our other therapeutic areas as well as transforming our company and our go-to-market model," commented Päivi Kerkola.
"Thanks to the innovations that Pfizer has developed, from the vaccine to the antiviral, also Italy (the first western country hit by Covid) has been able to return to a Post-pandemic 'new normal'.”

Kerkola continues:
“I chose to come to live and work in Rome in 2020 because I love Italy, its culture and the Italian lifestyle. This two-year period has been the most complex and rewarding leadership experience I have ever had, having taken the lead of a large new organization in a new country during a pandemic and having managed the entire organization for two years practically remotely.”
